The Green Deal scheme offers the opportunity to all homeowners, tenants and businesses within the United Kingdom to receive certain energy efficiency improvements without any upfront cost or capital outlay. This Green Deal Finance will be attached to the property's energy bill and the repayment schedule for the Green Deal will be calculated in such a way that the repayments are less than the resulting energy bill savings, so that the owner of the property or business will be financially better off. This is known as the golden rule and is important when making the necessary calculations and submissions.
It is understood that there will be somewhere in the region of £6,500 - £10,000 available for each home under Green Deal Finance or Green Deal Grants.
